How a journey is never straight forward and takes many turns and twists

Been a bit of a disastrous month, managed to crack the laptop screen and blow up the car engine. (how was I to know that a car needed water) This alone carried through with one of those conversations whose job is it to look after the car.
The laptop has been attached to a screen as a temporary measure although it is slightly easier to use like this. Fix Repair Broken Laptop Computer in pieces

The car is well extremely poorly and in the process of having a new engine fitted but they have at least lent me a car.  Husband has been great doing all the errands and running around with the kids though.

Whilst feeling very sorry for myself it has giving me even more resolve to be part of the percentage that makes it in the internet marketing field.  So I have picked myself up and started tackling the tasks that are involved in this.

I have been doing a lot of research into what it takes to become a well know master in your area of business. In doing this I have found and linked with people that I never knew existed, some of them are the bees knees the others should be shot offering people advice when you are unsure is not the correct way to get the best profile in this business.  Research

After launching Fairy Secrets on to Facebook and joining a lot of local sales pages I have realized that this at present is not going to make me a millionaire. However I am persistent and will keep plugging on. Apparently viewers have to see things at least 7 times before they purchase, not me however if i see something I have to have it right there and then

Leading on  from that I have banned the purchasing of any more shinny objects I must have goodness knows how many books on eBay  and they are really basic. Trying to implement some of their strategies and see where i can go with it. As an experiment and to help my knowledge to see what is lacking in these I have opened up another eBay id to practice  on.

I have also at long last managed to integrate PayPal with Aweber after a day of struggling with technology and eventually giving up. I came back the next day with a clear head and it too me 4 minutes to complete. Just got to remember to add an email every week to go out.

Although i will use them as a subscriber list firstly and utmost I want them to purchase more lingerie, hoping to slowly turn them into wanting health/diet and self help area buyers.

The further on into this journey you get you become aware of responsibilities to be completed. Updates on your Facebook pages, adding to email lists. Being careful to keep them. In the last blog I had three this has increased to nine. Heading into the right direction but need to get this out there more to increase this list so that I can become a more efficient marketer.

A lot more hard work yet to be done with building a website to link to the new eBay venture, learning basic skills on the computer which is sometimes the most frustrating. Knowing what you want to do but no having a clue how to do it. I am becoming a expert on surfing you tube to locate videos to help in this area.

What do you do when you are stuck?

Until the next time

It’s good that you’re patience even when you walk thru fire & water. And your investment on leads instead of lingerie seems good in the long run.

What I do when I get stuck?
I remind myself that tomorrow there will be a very good day again. This is just temporary. And then I do something complete different, like listen to a song that I love, with headset, or spoil myself with a hot bath, foot massage or a Vegetarian Buffé. “Because You’re worth it.”

    Hi Elaine,
Great post and sorry to hear about your run of misfortune! At least you’ve come out the other side with heaps of positive energy and a productive outlook to soldier on!

I too in the past have fallen victim to moving on from one thing to another buying things that I think are going to be the next set of keys that open a new door that tells me all I need to know and can now pretty much identify within 5 minutes of hearing a sales pitch whether or not something is worth the investment. I am a bit of an impulse buyer at times, which is great news for well presented sales presentations put together by clever marketers.

For me, I set myself so many hours a day to work and never go over that time by 15 minutes regardless of the task. It makes me feel like I’m raring to go to finish something off the next day and feel great when I accomplish what needs to be done. The key for me when things get tough or too technical is to move on to getting other stuff done that also needs to be done so that I am at least not wasting any time on things that I am unable to do. If push comes to shove, I hire someone to do the bits I can’t, there might be a fair cost, but that’s okay if it means I can move on from that challenge.

Since I started outsourcing some things I realised that you really don’t need to do everything yourself in this business and that’s it’s better to keep moving forward rather than struggling with something and staying still!

    Howdy Elaine,

Sounds like you’re going to be fine because you’re not quitting and starting over.

Sometimes when stuck, I like to take a day off and look at my project with fresh eyes.

BTW, love to hear your story of how you found & identified the thought leaders in your field. Make a good post…

Wow Elaine that is some bad luck with the car and the laptop.
It is often 1 step forward and 2 steps back in this business that’s for sure.
You are doing the right thing in linking with people – building your community is the most important thing you can do to help your business.
Yes it is hard work but just keep on one day at a time and never give up.

    Hi Elaine

Sorry about your misfortunes, but you’re right to use it as just another incentive spurring you on the road to success.

I have had to ban myself from buying shiny objects. They’re such a distraction!

Hope the car and laptop will soon be back in the land of the living!
